Electronic Cargo Tracking Note

The Republic of Sudan is a landlocked country in East Central Africa. It is bordered by 6 countries: to the East by ETHIOPIA, to the North by SUDAN, to the West by CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC, to the South-West by the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO, to the South by UGANDA and to the South-East by KENYA.

On April 1, 2019, The South Sudanese Custom Authority made it an obligation to obtain an Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) for all sea cargo destined for South Sudan and all exports from that country.

Trans-shipments for Mombassa (Kenya), Cape Town (South Africa), Port Sudan (Sudan), Massawa (Eritrea), Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania), Djibouti (Eritrea)

Some shipping lines may not load cargo without the ECTN number. Cargo arriving without a Cargo Tracking Note may be subject of fines and delays.
